What is your current COVID-19 protocol?

LKPS follows the current DOE and DOH guidelines for exposure and quarantine for both students and staff. All communications regarding COVID-19 will outline the full protocol that should be enacted if a positive case is determined.

How often is the school cleaned?
Is the school secure?
  • Secured front entry door with touchless entry access for staff and registered families;
  • Interior doors leading to classrooms are also secured by touchless entry;
  • Photo identification reference on staff computers to verify identity;
  • Instant electronic record of your child’s arrival and departure;
  • Customized ID for each family member or authorized pick up or emergency contact for your child. We require photo ID as an added safety measure.
  • Security cameras throughout to ensure safety.

Does City Kids give credits for days missed for vacations or illnesses?
Afterschool Policies
What is the commitment to afterschool programs at City Kids?
  • Enrollment requires a full semester commitment.
Can my child attend City Kids afterschool if they have not attended their regular school day due to illness?
  • Children who are absent from school for illnesses must be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication and free from all other symptoms for 24 hours before returning to afterschool.
What calendar do you follow for afterschool programming?
  • City Kids follows the Department of Education calendar for afterschool programming. Afterschool programming is held ONLY on days that my child’s school is in session.
What is your Afterschool Pick-up policy?
  • Parents must notify their child’s school that City Kids is an authorized pick-up.
  • City Kids picks-up from local schools, on foot, within a 1-mile radius. All children participating in afterschool must be able to walk the distance in inclement weather.
  • Students are not permitted to ride scooters, bikes or any other recreational modes of transportation back to City Kids. To ensure the safety of all students, staff cannot carry these items during our walks.
What is your cancellation policy for Afterschool programs?
  • Full refunds are available for up to 14 days prior to the start of the semester.
  • Cancellations between 14 days and the start of the semester will result in a loss of the $250 deposit for the class.
  • After the start of the semester, refunds of up to 50% will be given in the form of a City Kids credit to be used for future City Kids programming. Credits will be issued in the form of a gift card on our registration platform and can be used towards mini camps, forthcoming afterschool programs and summer camp. Credits cannot be used towards outstanding balances. Credits must be used within 1 year.
  • Transfers to other days or classes are permitted based on availability.
What is your missed class policy?
  • Notified absences will receive a 50% credit for up to 5 missed days of afterschool for the semester. Notification must be sent to enrollment@citykids.nyc before 12pm on scheduled day to obtain credit. Credits will be issued in the form of a gift card on our registration platform and can be used towards mini camps, forthcoming afterschool programs and summer camp. Credits cannot be used towards outstanding balances. Credits must be used within 1 year.

  • Full refunds are available up to 14 days prior to the start of mini camp. A 50% credit will be issued after this period. Credits will be issued in the form of a gift card on our registration platform and can be used towards mini camps, forthcoming afterschool programs and summer camp. Credits cannot be used towards outstanding balances. Credits must be used within 1 year.
School Aged Summer Camp Policies
What is your cancellation policy for Summer Camp?
  • Cancellations before May 14 will result in a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellation fees apply to the total order amount.
  • Cancellations before June 14 will result in a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation fees apply to the total order amount.
  • No refunds issued after June 14.
  • Medical exceptions will receive a 50% credit issued in the form of a gift card on our registration platform and can be used towards mini camps, forthcoming afterschool programs and summer camp. Credits cannot be used towards outstanding balances. Credits must be used within 1 year.
  • Please note that we have registration minimums in order to run a camp specialty session. If the minimum for the session is not met by June 15th, the session will be cancelled and families will be offered an alternative offering, or in the instance the second offering is not accepted, a full refund that week only.

Discounts
Does City Kids offer a sibling discount?
  • We offer a 10% sibling discount. The discount will be applied to the OLDEST child in the family.
